Credit Union opens door to new era, customers

DBC's Credit Union put out the welcome mat for its newly refurbished quarters in October with a gala grand opening, giveaways and special incentives for those thinking about joining.

In addition to low-cost loans and checking accounts, the Credit Union is now offering a $5 "finder's fee" to anyone who referring a new member to the banking institution. New members will have the $5 membership fee waived as well.

The DBC Credit Union serves almost 3,000 students, staff and faculty members, as well as their families. DBC alumni are also eligible to join. Anyone interested in taking advantage of the current incentive program must bring the appropriate photo identification and Social Security card to the office in Bldg. 300, Rm. 123.

Among the many services offered at the DBC Credit Union are debit cards, deposit accounts, checking and savings, certificates of deposit, IRAs and holiday club accounts.

The DBC Credit Union was started in June 1969 by Professor Roy F. Bergengren, a grandson of the founder of the credit union movement in the United States, along with nine other college employees.
