Most people on campus know her as the former Dean of Business, Hospitality and Library Services but back in 2005, Yvonne Newcomb-Doty ran for City Commission. She faced tough competition, but succeeded against three other candidates.
After making use of the helpful hands of her family, a brother-in-law in an advertising firm and many long days of campaigning, Newcomb-Doty successfully beat the competition.
